KARACHI, November 5: Federal Ombudsperson for Protection Against Harassment, Ms. Fauzia Viqar, visited Wafi Energy Pakistan where she addressed an awareness seminar on fostering safe, inclusive, and respectful workplaces for all employees.

In her remarks, Ms. Viqar underscored that the Constitution of Pakistan guarantees equality and dignity for every citizen regardless of gender or identity including men, women, and transgender persons. She stressed that harassment in any form is not only a violation of individual dignity but also a significant barrier to national progress.
“Empowering women to work without fear or discrimination can increase Pakistan’s economic output by nearly 30 percent,” Ms. Viqar stated, emphasizing the economic and social benefits of creating harassment-free workplaces.
She also broadened the discussion on workplace harassment, highlighting that it extends beyond sexual misconduct and includes all forms of discrimination, bias, and unfair treatment. Ms. Viqar urged organizations to adopt proactive measures that ensure equal access to education, training, and employment opportunities for all.
The session concluded with a token of appreciation presented to Ms. Fauzia Viqar in recognition of her unwavering commitment to gender equality and institutional accountability. Her visit reinforced the importance of building professional environments grounded in respect, safety, and equal opportunity.
