GUJRANWALA, Oct: Federal Ombudsman Mr. Ejaz Ahmad Qureshi has emphasized that Pakistan’s business and industrial sectors are vital engines of economic growth, job creation, and national stability. He made these remarks while addressing a ceremony as the chief guest at the Gujranwala Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
During his visit, Mr. Qureshi reaffirmed his office’s commitment to resolving the challenges faced by the business community. “Our doors are open 24/7 for complaints, and we recognize the central role of trade and industry in economic development,” he stated. He noted that over 223,000 complaints had been resolved in the past year alone, covering issues from more than 200 federal departments under the Ombudsman’s jurisdiction.
The Chamber’s leadership briefed the Ombudsman on key obstacles affecting industrial and commercial growth, urging stronger institutional support to unlock Pakistan’s economic potential. In response, Mr. Qureshi assured that the Federal Ombudsman Office will continue to actively address business-related grievances, providing fair and timely justice.
He also highlighted that 25 regional offices and complaint centers are operational across the country, while an online complaint system ensures ease of access for citizens and businesses alike. He pointed out that 99% of complainants come from low-income backgrounds, and the institution remains a critical support system for those who cannot afford legal assistance.
Earlier, the Federal Ombudsman chaired a review meeting at the Regional Office in Gujranwala and shared updates with the media on recent reforms and initiatives designed to improve grievance redressal mechanisms.
He encouraged members of the business community to submit their complaints directly, assuring that all matters will be handled with legal integrity and urgency.
