LAHORE, Oct: The Office of the Ombudsman Punjab has provided financial and administrative relief totaling Rs8.868 million to citizens across the province by promptly addressing public complaints filed against various Water and Sanitation Agencies (WASA).

According to a spokesperson, the Ombudsman’s office received 44 complaints concerning different issues with WASA authorities. After conducting thorough investigations, the office issued effective orders to resolve the grievances.
A significant portion of the relief Rs3.182 million was granted in cases related to billing discrepancies. Additionally, sewerage line repair, restoration, and cleaning works were carried out at an estimated cost of Rs1.86 million, benefiting residents in several localities.
Further action on miscellaneous complaints led to direct relief amounting to Rs3.826 million.
Complainants appreciated the efforts of the Ombudsman Punjab for ensuring swift and effective resolution of their issues, and for holding the relevant departments accountable through administrative intervention.
