PESHAWAR, Sep 04: Customs Health Care Society (CHCS), a non-profit organization serving humanity since 1998, has launched simultaneous emergency relief operations across flood-affected regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab.
Dr. Asif Mehmood Jah, Federal Tax Ombudsman and Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Ombudsman Association (OICOA), personally supervised relief activities in Mingora, Swat, where CHCS medical teams examined over 150 patients and distributed food packages and cash to families whose homes were submerged under 12 to 14 feet of floodwater. He highlighted acute shortages of drinking water, electricity, and sanitation in the area, urging humanitarian organizations to prioritize aid to Swat’s affected communities.
CHCS has already provided emergency medical care to more than 2,000 patients in Buner and Swabi districts and extended its operations to flood-hit areas of Lahore, Multan, and Gujrat, with plans to move relief teams to Jhang. Relief activities were also conducted in Gilgit-Baltistan, where hundreds of patients were treated and food supplies distributed.
Dr. Jah further directed CHCS teams in Sindh to remain on high alert as floodwaters move downstream, reaffirming the organization’s commitment to continue serving victims of devastating floods nationwide.
