Islamabad – July 2025: A group of interns currently undergoing training at the Federal Tax Ombudsman (FTO) Office visited the Wafaqi Mohtasib Secretariat in Islamabad on Monday as part of their orientation on public grievance redressal mechanisms.

During the visit, Advisor Shahid Humayun and Director General Administration Muhammad Safdar briefed the interns on the mandate, structure, and functions of the Wafaqi Mohtasib. They highlighted the institution’s vital role in delivering free and speedy administrative justice, noting how the success of this model has led to the establishment of specialized ombudsman offices in areas like Banking, Insurance, Taxation, and Protection against Workplace Harassment.

The interns also toured the Asian Ombudsman Association (AOA) Secretariat, located within the Wafaqi Mohtasib Office, where they were informed about Pakistan’s pioneering role in the international ombudsman community.

The visiting group appreciated the efforts of the Wafaqi Mohtasib Office in addressing maladministration complaints and promoting good governance across federal institutions.
