As part of its ongoing awareness campaign, the Punjab Ombudsman’s Office organized a seminar at Government Islamia College, Railway Road to educate students about the institution’s role in delivering swift and affordable justice. The seminar was presided over by the college’s Principal, Dr. Ibad Nabeel, and attended by faculty members, students, and officials from the Ombudsman’s office.
During the event, Abdul Basit Khan, Media Advisor to the Punjab Ombudsman, addressed the gathering, shedding light on the significance and efficiency of the Ombudsman’s office in resolving public grievances. He emphasized the institution’s commitment to providing justice free of cost and within a reasonable timeframe, underscoring its role in strengthening good governance and addressing administrative injustices.
The seminar also featured a detailed briefing by Shahid Abbas, Senior Registrar of the Punjab Ombudsman’s office. He walked the audience through the step-by-step process of filing a complaint, ensuring that attendees were well-informed about the mechanisms available to seek redressal for grievances. His presentation highlighted the Ombudsman’s accessibility and the ease with which citizens can bring their complaints forward.
Further, Syed Sibte Haider, Assistant Director of Media, and Adil Asghar, Assistant Director of Public Relations, commended Principal Dr. Ibad Nabeel for his exceptional leadership and his efforts in facilitating the successful organization of the event. They praised the college’s commitment to hosting initiatives that empower students and foster awareness about institutional mechanisms for justice.
The seminar concluded with an interactive session where students engaged with the officials, asking questions about the Ombudsman’s role and the procedure for addressing grievances. Participants appreciated the informative nature of the event and expressed enthusiasm for similar awareness programs in the future.
