Mr. Naveed Kamran Baloch is the Wafaqi Mohtasib (Federal Ombudsman) of Pakistan. He assumed office as the 9th Federal Ombudsman after taking oath on 4 March 2026 at Aiwan-e-Sadr, administered by the President of Pakistan.
A senior retired civil servant of the Pakistan Administrative Service (BPS-22), Mr. Baloch has held several of the country’s most consequential public-sector leadership assignments. He served as Cabinet Secretary of Pakistan and later as Secretary Finance / Finance Secretary (May 2019–December 2020), leading core functions related to national economic management, fiscal coordination, and inter-institutional governance. He also served as Chief Secretary, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (June 2018–February 2019).
In addition to federal roles, he has held senior responsibilities within the Government of Sindh and other public institutions, including leadership and board-level assignments in governance and public administration.
Mr. Baloch holds an MSc in Social Policy and Planning in Developing Countries from the London School of Economics (LSE) and is a Certified Director of the Pakistan Institute of Corporate Governance, reflecting a strong grounding in policy, institutional leadership, and corporate governance standards.
