Dr. Asif Mahmood Jah, born in 1962 in Sargodha, Pakistan, is a distinguished and accomplished bureaucrat with a multifaceted journey. Graduating from King Edward Medical College with a Bachelor's Degree in Medicine and Surgery, he embarked on a remarkable trajectory there onwards. Earning success in the CSS competitive examination, he commenced his professional path as an Assistant Collector of Customs in 1992. Through dedicated effort and expertise, he ascended through the ranks, culminating in his appointment as Chief Collector (Customs) North at the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).

Beyond his official responsibilities, Dr. Asif's commitment to humanitarian service as a medical doctor has remained unwavering for over three decades. He consistently allocates time to provide medical care for underprivileged patients. He has overseen the establishment of hospitals, mobile clinics, 43 dispensaries, community welfare centers, and educational institutions across Pakistan and beyond. Demonstrating his global outlook, he facilitated crucial aid to Rohingya Muslims in Bangladesh and Syrian refugees in Turkey and Syria.

Dr. Asif Mahmood Jah stands as a prominent Urdu writer, with 26 books to his name that have earned acclaim both nationally and internationally. His work "Dawa, Ghiza aur Shifa" serves as an invaluable household guide, reaching over 50,000 copies in circulation and consistently recognized as a best-seller by the National Book Foundation.

Recognitions of his exemplary service came in the form of prestigious awards. On March 23, 2021, he was honored with the Hilal-e-Imtiaz by the President of Pakistan, and in 2016, he received the Sitara-e-Imtiaz. These accolades celebrated his vital contributions to societal welfare in Pakistan and abroad.

A significant milestone occurred on September 29, 2021, when Dr. Arif Alvi, the President of Pakistan, administered the oath of office to Dr. Asif Mahmood Jah, appointing him as the Federal Tax Ombudsman.
