The Forum of Pakistan Ombudsman (FPO) is a professional, independent, and nonpolitical network dedicated to ensuring effective accountability of public functionaries in Ombudsman offices across Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir. Our primary aim is to advance good governance at federal, provincial, and local levels through social and educational training, as well as research pursuits, while promoting the Ombudsman concept both nationally and internationally.
We are committed to strengthening public grievance redress mechanisms in the Ombudsman offices of Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir by enhancing core capacities and achieving higher levels of professionalization in all Ombudsman offices. Through advocacy and awareness initiatives under a well-coordinated and collective outreach program, we strive to reduce citizens' tolerance for maladministration.
At the heart of our mission is the promotion of a transparent, accountable, and just system that upholds the principles of good governance and fosters trust between the public and its institutions.
Forum of Pakistan Ombudsman also expects that there will be a review of the legislation and procedural framework for all Ombudsman offices, both federal and provincial. The goal of this review is to establish consistent terms and conditions and enhance the law to improve the effectiveness of Ombudsmanship in promoting accountability and good governance.
